Before founding Build to Berth, I worked as a professional sailor and charter captain, running yachts across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Atlantic. I learned this industry from the deck up, delivering yachts offshore, running guest programmes, leading crews and keeping vessels moving in all conditions.

Professional Background

I hold an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (commercially endorsed), AMSA Master 5, AEC 1, MED 3, STCW and ENG1. I have experience in ocean passages, offshore deliveries, refit planning, logistics coordination and technical problem solving under pressure.

My career at sea shaped how I work today: stay prepared, stay calm and take responsibility.

Beyond the Helm

My work expanded from operations at sea into shipyards, refits and owner support. I have managed refit projects, contractor teams and yard schedules while protecting build quality and technical integrity. That experience proved a simple truth: preparation prevents problems and strong leadership protects timelines, budgets and safety.

Why I Started Build to Berth

I started Build to Berth for owners who want a professional standard of support without the noise of large management companies. Many owners simply want someone they can trust; someone independent, disciplined and easy to work with. That’s the role I built this consultancy to deliver.

How I Work

I don’t overcomplicate things. I believe in straight communication, proactive planning and getting things done properly. Whether it’s a new build, refit or operational support, I focus on clarity, seaworthiness and long-term reliability.
